Free 20 minute Discovery Call
Not sure which type of my consultations might be right for you? We wake up every day with different needs and circumstances! Let's have a free virtual discovery chat to talk about the basics of what's going on with you, what kinds of support you're looking for, and how I might be able to help via customized peer service appointments. We can go over any basic questions and concerns you have about my processes, your personal goals, and discuss pricing if you need to access my sliding scale.
To learn more about what peer support is, check out this pdf or this wikipedia page
Note: My listed prices are under market rates for comparable services elsewhere. However, if these prices are a barrier for you, sliding scale rates are available, with priority to BIMPOC community. Please reach out to discuss options at manateemedicinals@gmail.com
My education, ethics and approach:
I consider myself an intuitive folk herbalist and knowledgeable bodyworker. I graduated from east west college of the healing arts in March of 2020 with a degree in massage therapy. My 800 credit hour education included extensive training in such areas as anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, medical ethics, postural assessment, Traditional Chinese Medicine theory, and other alternative healing modalities.
I have studied many different forms and approaches of massage table work, including Swedish, craniosacral, myofascial release, tui na, and acupressure. I completed a yearlong herbal medicine apprenticeship with Atabey Herbal Medicine Program in Portland in 2021, and have studied various forms and modalities of herbalism in community since 2016. Please note that I am not a licensed medical professional! I cannot diagnose, treat, or prescribe medications or herbs.
I'm offering these services as a community care worker who wants to share their experiential wisdom with those who are seeking new resources and pathways of healing and self-discovery. I feel most comfortable working with those who already have some sort of working relationship with a regular doctor, naturopath, or other care provider. That being said, I do also like to provide this work for those who may be in a medical care gap or in-between providers.
I am open to working with anyone, and I am also not for everyone. I prioritize BIMPOC (Black, Indigenous, Multiracial, and People of Color) and LGBTQIA+ people in all of my work. If there is something I can do to help make my work more accessible to you, please don't hesitate to ask!
