Heart Mender tincture for grief and spirit support (2 fl oz bottle)
This blend weaves together an alcohol-based lavender tincture with a rose glycerite I made this past summer with roses gathered lovingly from my own garden. I made this as a custom formula for a loved one who needed something grounding and spirit-soothing after a scary medical experience that involved coming off of multiple very intense medications. Once I tasted it myself, I knew I had to make more to share it with others in my community!
Most of us have some familiarity with lavender, whose relaxing, calming effects can act as a mild antidepressant, helpful for lifting mood, dispelling depression and melancholy. An uplifting aromatic plant, lavender can alleviate migraines or headaches, and is used internally or externally to relieve tension, stress and insomnia.
Specifically, it brings calm awareness to the center of the body, which can be useful for those with panic and anxiety issues, and supportive after being in fight-flight or freeze mode. Grounding. Often used in digestive formulas to relieve indigestion & spasms of the stomach/g/i tract. This is the tincture, not the essential oil. Not for heavy use in pregnant people.
herbal actions: Antibacterial, analgesic, antifungal, antiseptic (used topically to dinsinfect and heal scrapes, wounds and burns), antispasmodic, anti-cancer, anticonvulsant, antioxidant, anxiolytic, antiparasitic, carminative, nervine relaxant, neuroprotective
Rose (petals) can be a very opening plant ally, connecting to water and the sacral chakra. Associated with the heart, it can assist us with moving through grief, heartache, an energetically broken or blocked heart, or depression. Rose can also be a heart-opener for trauma that we may be storing in the pelvic region.
Herbal actions:
(Rose) Energetics: Sweet, bitter, moist
Actions: Anti-inflammatory, Antidepressant, cardiotonic (mild), nervine aphrodisiac, carminative, vulnerary
Ingredients: fresh rose, fresh lavender, vodka, organic vegetable glycerin, filtered water
